Product Longevity and Continuous Supply
SGMICRO deeply understands the importance of long-term and timely supply of products to customers. Since its establishment, SGMICRO has never discontinued supply of customer demanded products. SGMICRO fully considers the compatibility with customers' existing device solutions in the product design process, and provides a large supply of industrial standard components. This practice ensures the continuous and smooth production of all products, and supports flexible and fast delivery requirements. SGMICRO has formulated relevant strategies and policies to implement the Product Longevity Plan (PLP).
Through the PLP, SGMICRO insures continuously supply products with customer demand for fifteen years or longer. To maintain the PLP, SGMICRO may add or transfer manufacturing facilities, or modify products, a Product Change Notification (PCN) flow will be followed to communicate such conditions with customers.
Before the final discontinuity of a product, SGMICRO will communicate with customers through the End of Life Announcement (EOL) process.
To help customers to make decisions when selecting products, SGMICRO designates the product status of each product, including Preview, Active, Not Recommended for New Designs and Obsolete.
Only under the following conditions may a Not Recommended for New Designs (NRND) or End of Life Announcement (EOL) be initiated:
- No sample application records in past two years
- No orders in past two years (5 years for automotive products)
- Compatible iterative products are available
- Confirm that there are restrictions on the product application
- Original manufacturing platform cannot be sustained
